Bible driven. Gospel filled.

Our Corporate Worship Philosophy

Bible-Driven Worship

Corporate Worship at Crossroads Church is governed by the authority of Scripture. We believe that the Bible is our only infallible rule of faith and practice. When we gather together, we worship our Triune God according to what His word commands, not according to traditions or popular fads. The Bible instructs us what we are to do when we gather together for corporate worship. We are to read the Bible, pray, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, preach the Bible, and participate in the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

The Good News in Corporate Worship

We proclaim the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ in every worship service to everyone present. Believers need to hear the gospel every week and those who have never heard the gospel need to hear it for the first time. The gospel is the announcement that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitute for sinners and rose from the dead on the third day conquering sin, Satan, and death. He bore the wrath of God against sin so that sinful people like us could be reconciled to God. Through faith alone in Jesus Christ, we are justified before God and counted righteous in his sight.

The Five “Solas” of the Protestant Reformation

We acknowledge and affirm the five “solas” of the protestant reformation:

  1. Sola Scriptura: The Bible alone is the Word of God

  2. Sola Fide: We are justified through faith alone apart from works

  3. Solus Christus: Christ alone is the only savior of mankind

  4. Sola Gratia: Our salvation rests on a work of God's grace alone

  5. Soli Deo Gloria: To God alone belongs glory forever
